Mark is interested in the process of economic development and the ability of systems to self-organize towards higher efficiency. He researches how clusters and industrial conglomerates can generate long term prosperity and increase social progress. He is also interested in the sustainability of our socio-economic systems and enjoys discovering the nexus between policy and private sectors. Research projects and topics that Mark is interested supervising his students in, include the following:

  • Microeconomics of competitiveness
  • Poverty alleviation
  • Systems ( socio-economic)
  • Youth unemployment
  • Cluster and cluster theory (policy and implementation)
