Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is a US$5 billion public sector undertaking (PSU) that integrates oil refining, exploration and marketing. It has been accorded the Navaratna PSU status and the ‘Star PSU Award’, in recognition of its pioneering work in the oil exploration and marketing industry.

With 4 operating refineries (including subsidiaries) and a strong marketing and distribution network across the country, it employs 70,000 employees and best-in-class work practices. It is one of the largest public sector oil marketing companies in the country and has extended its exploration activity to 27 blocks, 9 in India and 18 overseas.

BPCL was ranked at 225 in the Fortune Global 500 rankings for 2012, and at 952 in the Forbes Global top 2000 public companies. It is often referred to as an ‘MNC in PSU garb’.

BPCL was focused on investing in a 12-to-18 month management degree program for employees who missed out on a management degree and needed a flexible program to help BPCL employees earn a management degree without going for a sabbatical or weekend classes or quitting their jobs.

Executives and managers of BPCL were enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma of Business Administration (PGDipBA) program offered by GlobalNxt University.
